Active groups participating in Ebenezer’s music ministry include: Sanctuary Choir, Voices of Praise Choir, Concord-Chapel Choir, Carol Choir, Men’s Chorus, Women’s Chorus, and Handbell Choir.
The Sanctuary choir presents, during regularly scheduled and special worship services, a diverse musical repertoire that includes Anthems, Hymns, Spirituals, Traditional and Contemporary Gospel songs. The choir also participates in service to the greater Austin Community. Membership is open to all adult members. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings.
Voices of Praise Choir
The Voices of Praise Choir sings on designated Sundays and during special worship services. This group sings Praise and Worship music and Contemporary Gospel. Membership is open to members in the age range of 18 to 35 years. Rehearsals are held on Saturdays or by special arrangement.
The Concord-Chapel Choir provides age-appropriate opportunities for Christian instruction, fellowship activities, and basic music training for worship service. Age range for this group is 13 to 18 years. The Concord-Chapel Choir rehearses on Saturdays.
The Carol Choir provides age-appropriate opportunities for Christian instruction, fellowship activities, and basic music training for worship service. Choir members learn that they are an important part of worship services and not just performers. They also learn how music helps to shape and reflect their belief in God. Ages range from pre-K to 12 years. The Carol Choir rehearses on Saturdays.
The Men’s Chorus presents a diverse music repertoire during designated Sundays and special worship services. They also minister to individuals and groups beyond the Ebenezer membership. This includes participation in worship services at other churches and musically ministering monthly at selected Nursing Homes in the Austin metropolitan area. Men’s Chorus membership is open to all men. Rehearsals are held on the two Mondays immediately preceding third Sunday of each month.
The Women’s Chorus presents a diverse music repertoire that includes hymns, spirituals, anthems, as well as Traditional and Contemporary Gospel songs during designated and special worship services. Membership is open to all women. Rehearsals are scheduled as needed.
The Handbell Choir presents melodic, percussive music during designated and special worship services. It is intergenerational and open to all members who have a commitment to learn the instruments and deliver service. Rehearsals are scheduled as needed.
